I work with portrait photography from an artistic practice — for me it is about reaching an essence that cannot always be expressed in words. As a visual artist with over 30 years of experience and a master's degree in portrait photography from Theilgaard Academy, I have developed a calm, attentive working method that encourages presence and authenticity in front of the camera. My approach is subtle and interpretive: I do not pursue superficial gloss, but look for small visual signs and moods that together tell a story about the person I am photographing. In portraits I try to remove facades so the subject can appear without a mask — often the most interesting traits emerge when a sense of safety is present. This applies both to personal portraits and to the corporate portraits I create for businesses, where the aim is to present personality, professionalism and credibility in a natural way. How I work: before a session we have an initial conversation about what you want your portrait to convey — whether for personal use or a professional context. I adapt light, background and atmosphere to suit the concept and create a trusting environment so you feel comfortable and free to be yourself. During the shoot I give individual guidance so even those who are inexperienced in front of the camera feel secure and receive help to find expressions and body language that match their story. Post-processing is always subtle and respectful: I refine light and colour and remove only temporary minor imperfections, so the final image appears flattering without becoming artificial. I offer images in both colour and black & white and deliver files with usage rights so you can freely use them across your channels. I have a studio in Svendborg and also take assignments on location — my focus is portrait as a form of expression.
